Yasiel Puig has a flare for the dramatics, to be putting it lightly. The very eccentric Cuban-born player has been known for his extremely entertaining personality, but it also gets him into trouble sometimes.
He has been seen a number of times responsible for clearing the benches. Whether it was against the Pirates when he charged Chris Archer (he wasn’t even at bat at the time), getting into a shoving match with Nick Hundley, or yelling at Madison Bumgarner, he always seems to flare up when tensions get high… All of those events led to the benches clearing.
It happened again Saturday night, when a Pedro Strop pitch caught him in the leg. It looks like it very may well have been intentional, and Puig did not take it well.
Here’s a compilation of Puig getting mad, if you’re interested in some of the other times he’s disturbed the peace.
