The New York Yankees have been the bad boys of baseball for a long time. They've been crticised for buying their way to success, to cheating, and to generally doing anything it takes to win - even if it isn't fair.
Lately, the Yankees have shown a lighter-hearted side. They've been enjoying success towards the end of the season and clinched a playoff spot over the weekend. They genuinely seem to be having fun playing baseball, as well as celebrating their success
A couple weeks ago, the "Thumbs Down" trend swept the Bronx. Started by a Mets fan famously flashing the thumbs down when Todd Frazier hit a home run against the Rays, the Yankees have embraced the meme as a a silent beckon.
The whole team took to the thumbs down tribute, and on Wednesday a new Yankee celebration emerged - the Press Conference.
Pretty entertaining, the problem is it may not be an original Yankee idea. Did the bad boys of the Bronx steal this celebration off of the Cubs, who have been doing similar jigs for months?
Even if they did, the truth is the Yankees did it better. The camera man, the multiple reporters, the sheer length of the interviews. We'll let them get away with this one.
