Cole Caufield only needed two AHL games under his belt before coming a permanent piece of the Montreal Canadiens’ roster and he was one of the reasons why they almost won the Stanley Cup last season.
The Mosinee, Wisconsin native was drafted 15th overall by the Habs in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and he already has twice as many playoff games to his name than he does regular season games, appearing in 10 regular season games last year to 20 playoff games.
Caufield picked up four goals and five points during the season and scored four goals and 12 points during the postseason, and a brewery in Wisconsin has rewarded him in a very cool way.
District 1 Brewing Company in Steven’s Point, Wisconsin, just launched GOAL Caufield! last month, and you can probably guess by now that it’s a beer in Caufield’s honour. What’s even cooler about the whole thing is that D1 vows to donate 10% of all draft sales and 5% of all can sales from GOAL Caufield! to Camp Hope.
For those wondering about the actual beer itself, it’s a American Light lager with a 4.5% ABV and a 10 on the IBU scale. D1 also hinted about the possibility of the beer hitting Canadian shelves in the new year, which would be perfect timing for Caufield, whose birthday happens to be on January 2.
