Man, baseball has treated us to some impressively high-stakes home run robberies lately. Jackie Bradley Jr. and Josh Reddick made a pair of ridiculous leaping catches in eventual wins for the Red Sox and Astros — wins that probably wouldn’t have been possible without those catches — and it’s hard to say which player put forth the better highlight.
Bradley Jr.’s came late on Wednesday night. How late? We’re talking bottom of the 11th, when the Orioles were nearly able to walk things off on a homer, were it not for JBJ doing what he does so well out there in center.
Alright, alright. That’s pretty neat! But it only took a day before Josh Reddick presented his own contender for the throne. This wasn’t in extras, but Reddick yanks back a would-be go-ahead three-run bomb in the top of the ninth. You can’t hate on a play like this!
We don’t often see catches like these, much less in back-to-back games. Which one of these plays is better? Well, we’ll leave that to you guys to decide, although it didn’t take long for Reddick’s teammate Lance McCullers to chime in.
