It’s pretty safe to say the Lake Tahoe NHL Outdoors event takes the cake so far when it comes to being picturesque. From the sunshine affair between the Colorado Avalanche and the Vegas Golden Knights, to the sunset affair between the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers, the mountains, the trees, and the lake made for a beautiful weekend of ODR puck.

Now that the standard has been set, the question naturally arises; where should the NHL aim to host future NHL Outdoor games?

While there are lots of locations around the world that could be considered, it would be pretty tough logistically to pull off an Outdoor game outside of North America. With that in mind, what else should be considered?

It should be cold enough that melting isn’t an issues, and by now we’ve established that it should be picturesque. The first thing that comes to mind was a potential option for this season, but Lake Louise never panned out. Could that be the next location?

There are also other historically relevant places, like two-time Winter Olympic location Lake Placid in New York. While we’re in the state, we’ve seen the New York Rangers play a scrimmage in New York City’s iconic Central Park. There’s certainly enough space there, would that be a good selection?

Whistler, Banff, Jasper… There are lots of locations around the western part of Canada, and it would certainly be picturesque enough!

We asked you to provide some locations you'd like to see, and some of the answers are hard to argue with.
