The starting lineups for the 2019 MLB All-Star Game were announced on Thursday evening and there were a few first timers named to the event.
One of the players who is heading to his very first MLB All-Star Game is Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte, who’s already having a career year just halfway through the season.
The Diamondbacks happen to be in California at the moment, which means Marte got to watch the lineups officially get revealed on live television and he wasn’t alone as a bunch of his teammates crowded around the TV for the big moment.
It’s awesome to see Marte’s reaction to finding out he’s heading to his first MLB All-Star Game and it was even better to see his teammates celebrate with him.
Marte's teammates weren't the only ones celebrating once the announcement was made as this youngster was beyond stoked once he heard the news.
This season, Marte is batting .316 with a .364 OBP to go with a career-high 20 home runs and 51 RBI through 78 games after hitting just 14 home runs and 59 RBI in 153 games last season.
