Andrew Ladd is spending the NHL offseason the best way possible; with family.
After failing to make the postseason with the New York Islanders, Ladd has already found himself smacking balls on the golf course. But today marked a special round, as it fell on a special person in his life’s 100th birthday. Ladd’s grandfather hit the century mark today and celebrated by hammering a ball a ways away from the tee box.
Okay, so golf is an older person’s sport, but we’re pretty positive not many 100-year-olds can hit a golf ball quite like that!
As impressive as the swing was, Ladd’ grand-papa isn’t the only elder to have demonstrated incredible athleticism recently. Last year, a 99-year-old squared off against a 92-year-old in a race for the ages in New Mexico. The 99-year-old managed to barely sneak his way to victory.
Gus Andreone, who was 103 in 2014, managed to hit his way to a record-breaking hole-in-one, as well.
Congrats to Grandpa Ladd and his family on the milestone. Keep on Swinging!
