During Saturday’s ESPN College GameDay broadcast, a UVA fan was given the chance to win $18, 000.
Angus Binnie (what a great name) had 18 seconds to drain a basket from halfcourt. On his the third attempt, he nailed it.
Boom, $18,000 in his pocket that we hope he’ll spend wisely.
Straight to his college tuition.
Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long was in the house and was called out to take the shot. Knowing the humiliation that could follow if he missed, Long decided against it saying, “This is how you become a meme,” and would go on to miss his shot.
Instead, ESPN analyst Jay Williams stepped up to the plate and sank the shot as if he was standing from the free throw line.
This was the first time this season that someone on the GameDay broadcast was able to sink the shot in win. 11 participants had failed at the prize prior to Angus' shot.
If you didn't know, the UVA basketball team is called the Cavaliers, and some of their fans decided to troll LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Now that sounds like a fun place to attend a college game at.
