Just out beyond the centrefield wall at Angel Stadium sits a gigantic paint can with the words 'Angels Home Run In the Can $1,000,000' printed below it. On Wednesday night, Angels outfielder Justin Upton hit a home run into the can, but unfortunately there will be no $1 million donation because of a technicality.
Check out the home run.
As you may have noticed, while the ball did in fact land in the can, it bounced on its way in. Because it bounced in and didn't land inside the can on the fly, the Angels confirmed that it would not count towards Sherwin-Williams $1 million promotion.
The promotion has been running since the start of the season, with Sherwin-Williams promising to donate $1 million to the Angels Baseball Foundation if a home run lands in the can. But it has to land straight in the can.
As stated by ESPN's Darren Rovell, as of this time, Shewin-Williams will not be making the donation.
