The Winnipeg Jets have found themselves in quite a hole in the Western Conference Final.
The Jets dropped their third consecutive game to the Vegas Golden Knights in a contest that featured numerous head-scratching calls. The match kicked off with an early Tyler Myers penalty that had horrible repercussions for the Jets. On the ensuing power play, Jonathan Marchessault found William Karlsson to give Vegas an early lead. After Vegas eventually clinched the game 3-2, Myers didn’t hold back when discussing what he believed to be a weak call.
Myers didn’t appear to be the only upset Jet during the contest. Later in the game, a call on Mark Scheifele was missed after he was cross-checked in the face by Golden Knights defenceman Brayden McNabb. With blood on his face, Scheifele slashed McNabb in retaliation and was the only one to receive a penalty when the play was blown dead.
Despite the officiating, Myers feels the Jets have been the better team over the last two games.
The 6’8 blue-liner finished the game with a goal and sits second amongst Jets defenders with 7 points. They’ll need him at his best when Winnipeg hosts Vegas in a must-win matchup on Sunday.
