Canada is uniquely interested in hockey, which often puts Canadians in a bubble for some of the simplest issues that hurt the game’s popularity in other places, such as having no one to play against.
Every year, Tim Horton’s pulls off another fun stunt with Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon and this year might be the best one yet. According to this commercial, Kenya only has one team and Tim Horton’s flew them to Canada so they would have someone to play against, and also gave them a couple extra teammates.
It seemed like surprise after surprise, as the team saw their gear in the locker room and then had two of their favourite players show up to play alongside them.
There are several great moments in the clip, but we’re not sure which one is our favourite. There are a couple of times where the team is overwhelmed with excitement, but the top probably has to be one of the players touching Sidney Crosby’s face to make sure he is real.
They’re never going to forget that moment, that’s for sure.
