Toronto streets have changed a lot in the past couple of years.
First, there was a bylaw against street hockey in Toronto that limited the possibility of one of Canada’s favourite past time. That was lifted in 2016 and people are back on the pavement yelling car. Well, some people might be yelling “Street Car” judging by this video from Raptors reporter Josh Lewenberg.
One of the latest traffic changes in Toronto has been in the King Street Pilot, in which cars are not allowed to drive through intersections on King Street. So, the streets are a lot emptier and Torontonians are taking advantage.
Canadians have been playing road hockey everywhere this winter.
One of our favourite examples was the uber-Canadian tailgate that went down at the World Juniors this season. At the outdoor game held at New-Era field, Canadians were playing road hockey as well.
