Rumors of a Space Jam 2 with LeBron James have been circulating for what feels like forever, but as it turns out, we could’ve had a spin-off of sorts way back in 2003.

While the project never got off the ground — which likely explains how its existence was never really known until now — legendary skater Tony Hawk reveals that he met with Warner Bros. about a “Skate Jam” film.

There are no other details about the film, probably because it was never explored in-depth after the live action Looney Tunes: Back in Action bombed, but it’s fascinating to think of what a skateboarding Space Jam would look like. Hey, sign us up for Monstars pulling frontside airs.

While it seems too late for a Tony Hawk film to really get off the ground these days, it at looks like Space Jam 2 is heading our way. Not too much is known about the project, but LeBron James’ SpringHill Entertainment company released a teaser photo that confirms the movie is officially happening.

Some big names are also attached to Space Jam 2, including James, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler (as producer) and upcoming director Terence Nance.
