Raptors fans, it finally happened.
For the first time in history, the team from Canada won the whole thing.
This has been a long time coming for die-hard Raptors fans that have been faithful to this team to the beginning, but also, for Raptors’ players who have dedicated large chunks of their career to the Dinos.
They’re definitely going to savour this moment.
San Diego native Normal Powell has spent the entirety of his career with the Raptors, so it’s no surprise that he didn’t want to let go of the Larry O’Brien trophy once it was in his hands.
In fact, he even thought Larry would make a good snuggle buddy.
You know what? We don’t blame him at all. He’s not the first guy to use a championship trophy as a teddy bear, either. Remember Ovi? You couldn’t tear that guy away from Lord Stanley last year.
If we ever win a trophy as important as either of these two, we might even buy it a pair of pajamas. Never let go, Norm. Never let go.
