Around this time every year, American football fans around the world eagerly await Madden’s player rankings. And every year, only a handful of the game’s best are given a 99 overall ranking.
The video game is set to be released on August 10 and only seven players will don a 99 overall ranking. According to Uproxx, the club includes the following stars:
Tom Brady, QB, New England Patriots
Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers
Antonio Brown, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Rob Gronkowski, TE, New England Patriots
Aaron Donald, DE, Los Angeles Rams
Von Miller, LB, Denver Broncos
Luke Kuechly, LB, Carolina Panthers
Well deserved, but there are a few players who are noticeably missing on the list. Is Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones not worthy of the ultimate rating? And how Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz, who was recently ranked the 3rd best player in the league by his peers? Also- should injuries really be the reason why J.J. Watt isn’t up there?
Only three players were given the distinct honour when Madden 18’ was released a year ago, including Brady, Donald and Miller. Clearly the three haven’t lost a step.
If you’re a Madden fan, we strongly advise you to go with the Pats. That all 99 combo between Brady and Gronk is just too lethal.
