Sports occasionally intersect with animal wildlife, and this is something that fans of sport are well-accustomed to. Alligators on a golf course? That might as well be a recurring BarDown weekly feature.
Never, however, have we seen an animal live this much sheer life. A squirrel at the IndyCar’s Friday practice for the Detroit Grand Prix decided to fill time by dodging track cars on the circuit:
This squirrel has more courage than most of the human population can say of themselves. If a squirrel could ever be taught to handle a track car, this particular squirrel would probably launch itself into hairpin turns with more freewheeling dare than most human drivers would. Let’s make it happen.
In the ultimate BarDown animal bracket, it seems safe to speculate that this swashbuckling squirrel would face off against the golf gator of all golf gators to claim the crown.
