When you think of the San Antonio Spurs, maybe you think of DeMar DeRozan. Maybe the legendary Tim Duncan crosses your mind. Kawhi Leonard could be the first thing, or maybe the coach he had a falling out with in Gregg Popovich.
Even with current and past stars coming in and out of the successful franchise, you can’t think about the team without quickly coming to thoughts of their Argentine leader, Manu Ginobili.
Ginobili, a model of consistency and poise, was a staple in the silver and black for 16 seasons. With creativity shining through on the court, his humble attitude and mild manner also earned him tons of fans off the court. Overall, he goes down as one of the most beloved players in the history of the game. It’s no surprise the Spurs went all out during his jersey retirement night.
They even commissioned an artist to create a Manu Ginobili print, limited-edition and available for purchase.
It certainly seems as though Ginobili has been enjoying his night.
