One of the most highly-anticipated matchups of the year took place on Sunday night as Tom Brady and the high-flying New England Patriots took on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. While the two teams draw a lot of attention, the real matchup was Rodgers vs. Brady.

Two of the greatest to ever take the field, Rodgers and Brady have surprisingly only played each other on one occasion. While this means that it may not quite be the quarterback rivalry that Brady had with Peyton Manning, it still represents a very important matchup. You see, both have been called the GOAT before.

Brady’s rings speak for themselves, and the majority of people would say that he takes the GOAT crown if it comes down to the two of them. Saying that, up until Sunday night Rodgers had won the only matchup between the two future Hall of Famers. Brady changed that, leading the Patriots to 14 unanswered 4th quarter points to secure the victory.

The sports world reacted accordingly, with praises for the GOAT.

Who’s your GOAT now? Football fans can only hope for a rubber match between the two, although a Super Bowl faceoff may be the most likely scenario. Brady would be 45 by the time the two teams meet again in regular season action.
