A legendary career has come to an end.
On Monday, Spurs legend Manu Ginobili took to Twitter to announce his retirement from the NBA.
Today, with a wide range of feelings, I'm announcing my retirement from basketball. IMMENSE GRATITUDE to everyone (family, friends, teammates, coaches, staff, fans) involved in my life in the last 23 years. It's been a fabulous journey. Way beyond my wildest dreams. pic.twitter.com/3MLCUtmd6K
— Manu Ginobili (@manuginobili) August 27, 2018
The 4-time NBA Champion spent his entire NBA career (16 seasons) with the Spurs and was instrumental in every one of the championships he was part of.
As nice as the title wins were, though, Manu's legacy runs much deeper than that and upon his retirement announcement, the sports world congratulated him on an incredible career.

Here’s his best plays from last season. How does a 40 year old playing 20 minutes a game have a sick 3-minute plays of the year mixtape?

I don’t even know who the Spurs are anymore
How in the world are there people on the timeline debating if Manu Ginobili is a Hall of Famer? He's a first ballot lock. Sometimes I wonder what some people are thinking.

No drawn-out retirement tours & celebrations.
No ego.
Part of the reason for the Spurs remarkable run was the selfless attitudes of their stars.

As @jeaniezk just pointed out to me, the Spurs don't have Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, or Manu Ginobili on their roster for the first time since the 1996-97 season. End of an era.
