The Sedin brothers may be the greatest sibling duo in the history of the NHL, but they’re not the highest scoring.

If you’ve heard the statistic before, you probably already know what we’re talking about. Last night, Daniel Sedin hit 1,000 points, which made him and Henrik Sedin the first brothers ever to both reach 1,000 points in their career.

That’s impressive, but it’s not quite as impressive as everybody’s favourite stat in the NHL. One of the weirdest stats in NHL history is always good for a laugh and is sure to fool a few hockey fans on trivia night. That of course is the highest scoring brothers in NHL history: The Gretzkys.

Wayne Gretzky scored so many points in his career that his brother Brent only needed to pot four points to be a part of the greatest pair of brothers in NHL history. Of course, you can see there that some other larger groups of brothers have scored more but when limited to two, there’s no one better.

Still, the Sedins definitely have a case for the most well-rounded sibling tandem in NHL history.

By the numbers. #Daniel1000
