It’s the battle of the basement and for Arizona and Buffalo it might be easiest to get back to basics.
Arizona has actually started turning their season around, which fans probably aren’t very excited about, but Buffalo is still struggling. In the battle of the basement, most fans are rooting for their team to continue losing, so they can get the best draft position possible. Buffalo has been doing that well, but their players still want to win games.

As we mentioned, fans might feel as though the key to the game was scoring less goals than Arizona and they got their wish. Buffalo ended up losing the game 4-1, which likely made Canucks fans pretty happy because it dropped their team to the second lowest spot in the standings and the second best shot at getting the first overall pick.
Rasmus Dahlin is the coveted prize for whoever ends up finishing in last place, and he’s just continuing to impress scouts in the SHL playoffs.
