The Los Angeles Kings and the San Jose Sharks have a few things in common. They both play in the Western Conference as a result of both being located in California, but most recently they have both been eliminated from the 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs by the Vegas Golden Knights.
That’s got to hurt. The Knights are in their first season of play, and went on to beat two teams that have established themselves as contenders over recent years. The Kings were first, who promptly got swept, and they instantly hopped on a Sharks bandwagon, solely to cheer against the Knights. When the Sharks fell flat, the Kings appeared to touch a nerve.
Twitter accounts joke around, but this one seems genuinely salty. The Kings have been very active since the golf course emoji appeared in their Twitter name, and even their mascot has been picking sides.
We’ll see what happens with the Sharks and Kings Twitter accounts as the Golden Knights continue to shatter expectations and crusade their way through the Stanley Cup playoffs.
