Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews are the Toronto Maple Leafs’ youngest players and they also look like they might be the best gamers.
The Leafs held an NHL 18 tournament for their team earlier in the year and after several different matchups, the championship is out. While they don’t exactly call this game the Championship, they did call Matthews’ last game with Frederik Andersen the semi-final, so logically, this is the final match. Spoon vs. Juicy for the ship.
Marner did most of the talking in this one, and instead of chirping each other, they were mainly chirping the people watching. Frederik Andersen got a lot of the abuse, as goalies often do, but Matt Martin who was a star for Marner throughout the tournament got some shade thrown his way too.
That’s a tough way to lose for Marner on that one as Matthews goes through the legs and top corner to finish it off, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.
Marner has explained that he has been Matthews’ teacher in video games when they play in shooters together, but it appears as if they apprentice may have become the master in this one.
