The Los Angeles Kings got off to a hot start this season, but they've fallen out of a playoff spot as they're currently one point back of the Sharks for third place in the Pacific Division with a game in hand.
With the trade deadline coming up, the Kings could be active as they try and acquire a piece to help them get back into the playoffs for the first time since the 2015/16 season.
What might stop the Kings from acquiring a player, though, is their cap space. As per Cap Friendly, this is what Los Angeles' cap situation looks like ahead of the deadline.
On Thursday, another team in Los Angeles made a trade to clear cap space for the future which many fans hope includes LeBron James.
After the Lakers made their trade with the Cavaliers, the Kings decided to ask their NBA neighbours for a little favour, proving once again why the team has one of the best Twitter accounts in sports.
Even if the Lakers could help the Kings out, we're not convinced they would based on how badly they need that cap space in order to sign some big names in the future.
You can't blame them for asking, though, and we're sure the Kings won't let their cap situation stop them from trying to make a deal to improve for a playoff run.
