Around these parts, the Carolina Hurricanes are becoming rather popular for their very over-the-top ‘Storm Surge’ celebration. Maybe it a lot for the culture, but if it’s a lot for the culture, then it has a home at BarDown.
The Hurricanes’ latest post-game celly is a classic. They went bowling!
Justin Williams with the strike! We love it. We love the Storm Surge, which is exactly the right amount of “too much.” Have more fun out there, hockey players!
We will say, though, that their latest celly doesn’t quite compare to another from earlier this week, which was seemingly Thor-inspired with the way they put the hammer (hockey stick) down.
The Hurricanes’ adoption of the flamboyant celly has even reverbated down to the junior levels, with the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms busting out their own version of the Storm Surge.
