One of the most watched highlights from the 2018 World Juniors didn't even occur during a game.
Thursday, the Czech Republic took on Sweden in their second game of the tourney, but before things got underway, a World Juniors worker involuntarily got a little too involved in the pre-game warmups. As the Czech team took to the ice a worker at the Key Bank Center was attempting to fix a net. Unfortunately the Czech team didn't see him and the guy quickly found himself under friendly fire.
The worker wasn't the only one to come under fire, as the Czech team received a sizable amount of criticism from fans online, despite the fact that it was all just an unfortunate accident. To their credit, the Czech team not only apologized to the guy in the moment, they also approached him on Saturday to apologize in person. Oh and they were bearing gifts.
A nice ending to a bizarre story. Remember kids, keep your head on a swivel, or else you'll find yourself playing the role of "hockey net."
