The New Orleans Pelicans and Anthony Davis are in a very…. Awkward place.
The superstar has made it clear that he wants out of New Orleans, but all attempts to deal him before the trade deadline fell through. Fans (and especially fantasy basketball team owners) feared that he may be shut down for the season as a result. The Pelicans weren’t doing anything anyway, why keep their star player in games where he risks injury?
But the league interfered, and threatened to fine the team for every game the Pelicans rested him without the need to rest him. So now its… again… awkward…
So, what do you do if you’re the New Orleans Pelicans social team and it’s AD’s birthday? You HAVE to do a birthday post, right? You do it for the other guys, and you’re supposed to remain at least relatively impartial. It’s like the John Tavares tribute video in Long Island all over again.
