Believe it or not, NHL All-Star weekend in San Jose is quickly approaching and on Thursday, the captains for each division were announced. The captains were decided on by way of a fan vote and surprisingly, it doesn't seem like there's any controversy with who was voted in.
One of two arguments might come from Tampa Bay or Toronto fans due to the fact that Auston Matthews has been out for a bit this season and players in the division such as Nikita Kucherov (second in the league in scoring with 57 points), Mitch Marner, or John Tavares have all put up big numbers.
That said, Matthews has been dominant when he has been on the ice this season, so it's not outrageous. We also saw some complaints about Ovi winning the fan vote over Crosby, but honestly, it seems like the fans got it right.
