Teddy Bear Toss Night has become one of the best traditions in hockey over the years.
Each year, teams across North America select a specific game during the holidays where they encourage fans to bring teddy bears to the game to throw on the ice after the home team scores its first goal of the night. Once the stuffed animals are gathered up, the team then donates them to local charities and hospitals as Christmas presents.
This past Friday, the San Jose Barracuda held their annual Teddy Bear Toss Night when they hosted the Texas Stars and the fans certainly stepped up their game for the big night.
Not only did the fans step things up for Friday night’s game, but so did the team. Instead of rocking their traditional jerseys for the game they switched things up and had some custom teddy bear themed jerseys made up for the occasion.
The jerseys included the team’s logo and colour scheme, but they added plenty of teddy bears along with some presents and a couple of bows to the jersey for the night.
It ended up being a great night for everyone but the Stars as the Barracuda walked away with a 3-1 victory.
