CFL Free Agency opened on Tuesday afternoon and since then, a lot of big names have been signed to deals.  No name has gotten more attention on social media, though, than the defensive tackle the Toronto Argonauts signed on Wednesday.

Poop Johnson will be rocking the "double blue" next season and as soon as the CFL sent out the tweet announcing the signing, it went viral. The best response of the day was this one with a NSFW word that isn't bad in the slightest in this context.

Now, before you go purchase your Poop Johnson jersey, it's important to note that it's not his actual name, but rather a nickname he earned in college.

Cory is his real first name, but everyone calls him Poop and as per an article from 2018 by the Regina Leader Post, he's embraced the nickname.

β€œI told them it was because I pooped a lot of stuff,” Johnson said in advance of Sunday’s West Division semi-final against the visiting Winnipeg Blue Bombers. β€œIt blew up from there. I just can’t rid of it so I’ve embraced it.”

It looks like the internet and his new team have embraced the nickname, too.
