The NCAA gets a lot of guff for their rules against players getting paid in their league, but that didn’t stop the Texas Longhorns from flashing some cash in their new locker room.
Most people would assume that name plates are enough for a player to identify their lockers with, but the Longhorns have taken that a step further. They have replaced all of the nameplates in their locker room with 43-inch TV’s that will have custom graphics of each player.
This is like the a locker room version of Pimp My Ride. We have to expect Xzibit was involved in some way.
Don’t get us wrong, it looks cool and the entire aesthetic could totally be the future of locker rooms, but it also seems totally unnecessary. Simple clean locker rooms are already pretty kind on the eyes, and this is just next level.
We’re sure the players will enjoy their new locker room, but they also definitely have to be a little more careful in their locker now that they have a TV hanging above them.
Those TV’s might be in danger if their locker room is anything like the New York Giants’. Video emerged yesterday of the team going absolutely crazy, dancing and singing in a chaotic scene in their dressing room.
