Team Canada will go head-to-head against Team USA at the 2018 World Junior Championship on Friday afternoon and it’s going to be unlike any of their meetings from previous tournaments.

The preliminary matchup between the two countries will take place outdoors at New Era Field and will mark the first time a top level IIHF tournament game is being held outside.

With the game less than 48 hours away, Team USA took advantage of their day off on Wednesday and tested out the ice at New Era Field for the first time since the rink was put together.

The Americans crushed Denmark 9-0 in their opening game on Tuesday night so their off-day ended up being a pretty stress-free day.

Team Canada and Team USA will go head-to-head on Friday afternoon at 3pm ET/12pm PT and you can catch all the action across TSN.
