The San Antonio Spurs have had some problems with bats lately. Two days ago, their game against the Brooklyn Nets was stopped because bats invaded the court, causing a number of Spurs employees to try to corral them.
They were more prepared on Saturday, and by that, we mean the Coyote, mascot of the Spurs, was ready to go with his Batman costume on and everything as he tried to catch the renegade bat — and he quickly did!
(Let’s just gloss over the fact that catching bats is not a thing that Batman is known for, or does.)
The reaction of Spurs players on the floor, however, is incredible. LaMarcus Aldridge thinks he’s just retrieving the ball after a whistle when the bat swoops right past him, and he chucks the ball basically out of reflex. After a seriously manic capture attempt by the Mascot, the entire bench is literally whooping, even towel-waving.
Still, this doesn’t really compare to the OG bat-wrangler in San Antonio: Manu Ginobili.
