Tyreek Hill is nicknamed “Cheetah” for a reason. He is one of the fastest players in the NFL, and his speed can even be talked about in the same conversation as some of the fastest people on Earth.

Does that include a modern day Usain Bolt, once considered to be the fastest man of all-time in his prime? Tyreek seems to think that it wouldn’t be a problem for him to beat the Jamaican speedster.

A confident Hill dropped a controversial quote where he called Bolt “old” and “washed up,” and he explained that he would take Bolt in a 40-yard race.

Bolt joined the Dan Patrick Show to discuss the Chiefs superstar’s challenge, and even admitted that Hill may have a shot in a 40-yard race based on Bolt’s height preventing him from reaching top speed early. He instead wanted to race Cheetah 100 yards, but Patrick was able to split the difference and have Bolt agree to 70 yards.

With a Super Bowl ring and an Olympic gold medal potentially on the line, interest in the proposed race has been very high. We’ve even got the odds!

As for Tyreek, he first replied with a little jab at the decorated Olympian, and then followed it up with a simple statement; he “will be ready.”

Okay, FINE… we’ll watch.
