Kawhi Leonard fever has reached an all-time high and if you need any more proof, just head to Wikipedia.
'King in the North' are four well known words from HBO’s Game of Thrones but as the Raptors’ NBA Finals run has rolled on, more and more basketball fans have been slapping the same title on the 27-year-old. One fan in particular wants the whole world to hop on board, so he decided to add his name beside the GoT characters under the ‘King in the North’ web page. It’s just the three of them and, of course, some person named Gernika from Francisco Escudero’s second opera, written in 1985.
Whatever that means?
THE KING IN THE NORTH! THE KING IN THE NORTH! THE KING IN THE NORTH!!!!!!!!
This, of course, is far from the first hilarious edit we’ve seen on Wikipedia. In fact, we’ve come across some that many would agree were just a bit more harsh.
Leonard has been on an absolute tear in the playoffs, averaging 30.9 points per game, 9.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists. If he elects to stay in Toronto next season, we all may as well start calling him the 'King in the North'.
