New Year's Day is always a fun one for hockey fans because of the Winter Classic. There's just something magical about hockey being played outdoors and it's fun to see the players we all love watching play the game how they did when they were kids.
The Bruins and Blackhawks kicked off 2019 by squaring off in the home of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and before the game got underway, a leprechaun skating around the ice as part of the pre-game festivities took an unfortunate spill.
The bad news is that leprechaun will be on sports stations everywhere for an unfortunate reason. The good news is he seemed to be okay after the fall and ever managed to smile about falling.(H/T: Twitter)
