On Wednesday, big news out of Minnesota shocked the basketball world as Jimmy Butler reportedly requested to be traded and his three preferred destinations are the Nets, Knicks, and Clippers.
Just because those are his preferred teams doesn't mean he's going to end up on one, though, because the Timberwolves will trade him to whatever team gives them the best offer.
Raptors fans are hoping their team will end up with Butler, even if it is just for one season, and a few fans came up with an interesting theory connecting Butler to the Kawhi Leonard press conference that was cancelled by the Raptors.
It's a pretty farfetched theory considering the Raptors already gave a reason as to why they cancelled the press conference which was scheduled for Thursday, but if Butler gets traded to Toronto, then it wouldn't be so farfetched.
It would be crazy if the Raptors traded for Butler given the risk, but they took that same risk with Kawhi and if this is the last year before they start to rebuild so at this point, anything is possible.
