You don’t often get a chance to show off your footy skills on the baseball field, but Javier Assad, of the Chicago Cubs’ Class A-affiliate Myrtle Beach Pelicans, turned in a highlight that would fit right in on any MLS best-of reels.
After bobbling the baseball, Assad *kicks* it to the first baseman for the put-out. And he didn’t just kick it along the ground, either — he actually gets a bit of lift on this one, making an easy catch for the first baseman for the out. That’s an impressive put-out right there.
Soccer meets baseball — with a bit of the Kentucky Derby thrown it, for good measure. How about those jerseys? The sneaky stars of this highlight play, for sure.
