Charles Barkley is just like the rest of us when it comes to March Madness: he’s in awe over the Cinderella story of Sister Jean and Loyola Chicago heading to the Final Four in the NCAA tournament.
Before tip-off of their match against Kansas State (9), Barkley said that he wanted to take a stroll with the 98-year-old chaplain of the Ramblers team down the San Antonio River Walk, which Chuck referred to as a “dirty creek, not a river,” if the team advanced to the Final Four in Texas.
Well, after Loyola’s big win, Sister Jean responded to Chuck’s request.
“We’ll have limitations. I like him when he talks as a sports announcer vert much, but I don’t want to see him play on the basketball court.”
She got you, Chuck.
We can speak for the majority of sports and basketball fans out there saying we can’t wait to see what these two have in store for everything when they meet up and go for that lovely stroll down the “dirty creek.”
Loyola will face Michigan in the Final Four next Saturday, so we’ll have to wait a week to see it all transpire.
