This goal celebration hasn’t worked out too well for the Russian side, but it reminds us why we love watching World Juniors every year.
Hockey players are a fairly tame bunch for the most part, but when they are younger they seem to be more likely to wear their emotions on their sleeve. That’s always evident on goal celebrations. No matter what team, everybody is much more excitable in this tournament.
There is no better example of that then Marsel Sholokhov’s “Shhh” celly after a goal in the first period of Russia’s first game to tie the game.
This one hasn’t worked out for him with Czech storming back after this and scoring three straight goals. Russia will take the L on this one, but we’re confident this is just the beginning of the amazing celebrations that you see in this tournament.
Never forget that Colin White actually dabbed after a goal in 2015-16.
