The Oklahoma City Thunder hosted the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night and it was a lot chippier than your average basketball game.

Point guards Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley have had some bad blood in the past and they added to their feud on Tuesday night and it didn’t take very long. Just a couple of minutes into the tilt, Westbrook blew by Beverley for two of his 32 points and capped off the play by taunting the Clippers point guard.

That was just the beginning of a long night as Beverley decided to give Westbrook a taste of his own medicine by using the same taunt against him after he scored a basket.

They got the night started with the light stuff, a few taunts here and there, but then things escalated after that. Late in the game Westbrook made an attempt to get hold of a loose ball, only he had to avoid a diving Beverley at the same time.

Considering Beverley was the man defending Westbrook when the Thunder point guard tore his meniscus in the 2013 NBA Playoffs, it’s pretty easy to understand why Westbrook completely lost it on the Clippers guard, even if he was just genuinely trying to get ahold of the loose ball. Both players had to be separated by multiple teammates and staff members. Making sure that was the last time the two sides tried to square off, police were brought in to separate the two sides during the remainder of the game.

Beverley spoke to the media following the loss and explained what he was trying to do and how it all blew up on the court.

Westbrook certainly got the final laugh as he dropped 32 points to Beverley’s four points in the Thunder’s 128-110 victory.
