As many of you avid sports watchers probably know, Canadian catcher Russell Martin pitched a scoreless 9th inning for the Dodgers in an 18-5 blowout win over the Diamondbacks.
Martin didn't give up a hit in the pitching appearance, but there was one near mistake he made and it happened at the end of the game once the final out was recorded.
Martin is used to coming to the mound and shaking the pitcher's hand, not the other way around. Thankfully one of his teammates had his back and reminded him so his catcher wouldn't be left hanging.
Martin wasn't the only position player to pitch in the game, either, as Arizona turned to John Ryan Murphy in the loss.
His outing wasn't as good as Martin's, though, as he was roughed up for 7 earned runs.
