For the first time since the 1998/99 season, Roberto won't be in the crease for an NHL team.  The future Hall of Famer retired following this past season and it's bittersweet knowing we won't be seeing him back between the pipes again.

We will, however, be seeing his number raised to the rafters in Florida.  Monday, the team announced that Luongo's number would be the first one retired by the franchise on March 7th, 2020.

It's a tremendous honour and one that Luongo is incredibly grateful of, as he explained on a conference call.
We can't think of a more deserving player than Luongo to be the first player to have his jersey retired by the Panthers.
