If you live in or around Toronto, and around Canada to a certain extent as well, you’ll know just how much Raptors fever has taken over in recent weeks. On the back of superstar newcomer Kawhi Leonard, the Raps have excited fans with an exhilarating playoff run so far. They’re hoping that it doesn’t come to an end at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks.
In order to get by the #1 seed in the league, the Raps will have to do a good job of shutting down superstar and MVP finalist Giannis Antetokounmpo. While the “Greek Freak” managed to walk all over them in Games 1 and 2, Game 3 was a different story. That’s all thanks to Kawhi.
Giannis finished with just 12 points, and while his 23 rebounds and 7 assists were enough to salvage the game to a certain extent, it certainly wasn’t what the Bucks were hoping for. On Monday, a new stat line emerged – the stat line Giannis had while guarded by a man known as “The Klaw”.
If the Raps can get anything close to that in Game 4, they will certainly take it. Antetokounmpo has been terrorizing defences all year long, and it’s not very often you see him put up a dud like this.
While Kawhi was certainly the most notable defender, he wasn’t the only one at Scotiabank Arena on Sunday.
We’ll see if the Raps are able to tie the series on Tuesday, but shutting down Giannis is far from a sure thing.
