Rantanen became the first non-Penguins player since 1998-99 to reach this statistical mark

The Colorado Avalanche are having success once again this season in large part due to the best line in the NHL which consists of Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog, and Mikko Rantanen.

If we were to ask you which of the three players is leading the league in scoring and you hadn't watched any hockey this season, chances are you'd probably guess MacKinnon.

Rantanen is surprisingly the correct guess and Wednesday night, the 22-year-old recorded another multi-point game to bring his total to 58 on the season. It also allowed him to join this exclusive group of Penguin players:

That's pretty insane to think that before this season, the only players on this list were Penguins. Rantanen and the Avs' top line is scoring at an absurd rate, though, and chances are all three players will finish in the top-ten in scoring when it's all said and done.

Mikko Rantanen, Nathan MacKinnon, and Gabriel Landeskog have now combined for 60-95—155 in 2018-19.
