The Toronto Arrows wrapped up their third MLR season last week and they went the entire season without ever playing a game on Canadian soil due to COVID restrictions.
When you spend that much time away from friends and family and never get a chance to play in front of a true home crowd, it makes the season a lot tougher than it needs to be, but they found a way to fight through it all and experienced plenty of ups along the way.
Following the conclusion of their season, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shared a special message with Canada’s MLR team and showed them some love for fighting through it all.
The Arrows ended up relocating to Atlanta for the season where they played all their “home” games, and finished the season in 10th place out of 12 spots with a 5-11 record.
In their first season in 2019, the Arrows finished in third place with an 11-0-5 record but lost in the semi-finals. In 2020, they were in second place with a 4-0-1 record when the season was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic, so it goes to show just how much of a difference it makes to have that true home support during the season.
