Arguably the biggest free agent in terms of name recognition and talent is Ilya Kovalchuk and ever since he announced his intentions of returning to the NHL, he's been linked to a number of teams.
Once the season ended, Kovalchuk started meeting with teams and fans got a better idea of who the true suitors are for the prolific goal scorer.
The latest team to be linked to the 35-year-old, however, is one that fans have connected him to because of an Instagram post.
Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins posted a picture of himself working out with his fellow countryman and fans immediately jumped to conclusions.
In the grand scheme of things, this picture means absolutely nothing based on the information that's out there already, but if Kovalchuk does end up signing with the Penguins, then we can look back to this picture as the first sign it would happen.
