The Winter Classic has become quite the spectacle in recent years, and it seems like each edition of the outdoor NHL game adds some nuance to the mix. 2019 is no exception, with the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks ready to face off on New Year’s Day with a special anecdote from one of each team’s biggest star.
Patrick Kane and David Pastrnak are two of the most creative NHLers on the ice. Ahead of the Winter Classic, each player teamed up with Bauer to create a custom twig to be used for the game. The custom sticks features elements such as Notre Dame’s football field, inspirational quotes, and even the term “YOLO” scrawled across Pasta’s creation.
