The Ottawa Senators have taken over the majority of the headlines in regards to TradeCentre because it seems like they’re willing to trade everyone.
Already, they have traded Kyle Turris, Dion Phaneuf and, as of this afternoon, Derick Brassard. The Brassard details are just coming out, and within that deal they received Ian Cole who they plan on flipping into another trade. So, after all that, it doesn’t seem like the Sens are even close to done.
Darren Dreger has already listed a group of Senators that he believes could be on the outs and now we have a reason as to why this might be the case.
It’s amazing that it could something as simple as that. Offend the GM and you’re entire team is getting shipped out. Obviously, as Yost eluded to, there’s slightly more at play. Ottawa was a middling team that is seemingly going to lose their best player to free agency after next season if they don’t trade him.
On top of all that, they may be looking to shed some salary in a transitional period.
