A lot of NFL players are already annoyed with the new rules in the game, but none of them are more fed up with them than Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews.
Through the first three weeks of the season, the 32-year-old has already been flagged three different times for roughing the passer, but his latest penalty was the most questionable one of them all.
As a result of yet another questionable roughing the passer call, a Packers fan has decided to take matters into his own hands and started a GoFundMe page to help Matthews pay for any fines he might receive from the league.
Created by Adam Waraxa of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, the online campaign has raised just over $500 in a couple of days.
"I am raising money because the Officials for the NFL have been increasingly unfair and I would like to show my support toward the Green Bay Packers’, especially Clay Matthews. Go Pack Go!
This whole thing got a bit bigger than intended, with that being said, I will attempt to reach out to Mr. Matthews to see which chairity he would like to donate the money to, if I receive no response, I will donate it all to The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
Once again, Go Pack Go!"
The money being raised through the campaign won’t actually be going to the NFL. Instead, Waraxa is hoping Matthews will get on board and put the money raised towards a charity of his choice, but if they can’t get ahold of him then he will be donating the money to The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
